year and model would be helpful. A 71 sedan will be much lighter than a 78 wagon.

2.3 usually means 74+, but i'm not one to assume. more details would be more helpful.

73 sedan parts car,80 crusin wagon conversion,76 F 250 460 SCJ,74 Ranchero 4x4,88 mustang lx convertable,and the readheaded step child 86 uhhh Chevy 4x4(Sorry guys it was cheap)

i had a '71 that i stripped to bare bones.  lexan side windows-quarters-rear window.  stripped all the carpet and sound deadner out and removed the rear seat and a glass hood it weighed in at 1826 at Zimmers Chevron ( a truck stop with a weigh station) in Whittier in 1971
the only substitute for cubic inches is BOOST!!!

How much did the lexan set you back if you don't mind me asking? I was thinking doing the same thing, and I wasn't sure if I could get the side glass done or not. They go up / down normally?

My 72 with a 2.3 and a roll bar with 3/4 tank gas weighed in at 2380.

all i remember about the lexan was that it was a real llong time ago.  like 30yrs.  i had a girlfriend that didn't care what i did to my car and a pocket full of money and time.  I had the windows running in the stock guides etc but had the mechanisms for rolling them up and down removed,  they were raised and lowered by way of a nylon strap that was backed by velcro
