Early 80's Granada will BOLT right into a Pinto if you get one made for a floor shift. The collum shift one will work, just more work to install it. Its all on the Mustang II web site.

I believe our Pinto Guru, Brian, but now pintoman1 says otherwise. We have a debate on our hands!

What do the original sales brochures say? I don't see any mention of it in my 78's brochure, perhaps it was only offered for a few years?

I was selling Mercurys (henceforth, Bobcats) in the final few years of production and there was no tilt steering wheel option available then.  I'm of the opinion that if anyone has seen one in a Pinto or Bobcat, it's because it was installed there post-production.  If anyone has anything that would suggest otherwise, I'd love to see it.

i don't want to sound rude or anything here, but i will stick with my statement that pinto's did not have tilt columns. if it has one someone installed it after the fact.

I don't think I have ever seen them listed in any dealer brochures

I would have to agree with Pintoman1, I have "heard" of a few but can not confirm it was ever offered as a factory option. I have some pretty detailed "Ford" brochures, comparison guides and training tools used by the salesman, especially the early years (71-74), and there is no mention of tilt steering.

i rechecked the steering column this weekend. and cookieboystoys is correct. from what i can saw. the person did a rush job on the conversion. they used 1975 and up brake pedal  bracket, 1976 column from what parts i could read,a 74 ignition swith which was not properly secured on the column. and bad wiring to boot.i could only hope it was the rear deal. the other thing i found on the car that was dumb.was the passenger side rotor is soooo shot it broke away from its hat  base.since its sooo bad im not buying the column.but wonders what other ford tilt column has the same mounting points as the pinto from 75 and up.anyone with a ford interchange manual on hand.hahahaha
