Painting the Rubber parts

I just thought I would ask around about painting the rubber parts on the Pintos, such as the spacers for the bumpers and the headlight doors on the 76-78 modles.

I know in the past there was a specal primers and flex agents in the piants to keep these peices from cracking. But I also know Paint has changed over the years as well....

These older parts need to be perserved so I figured keeping them covered  with the right stuff is probley the best thing to do.
My 76 has cracked paint on all these parts.

I will post pics if needed so people can see the damage.

So let me know the scoop.

A few years back I asked a local paint supplier the same thing about painting my 88 Mustang rear window rubber (takes a dump after you accidently wax it) they told me no.

well I ran down my two suppliers....b oth said yes and had several different steps for prep and paint...
I'm glad I caught them in a good mood.. Now if they would buy some shirts//:)


I'll post more when I get them in the shop.
