installing chrome trim in hatchback rubber molding

I am finishing restoring a 1977 pinto hatchback and am having difficulty putting the chrome trim in the thin gap in the rubber molding for the back window. Does anyone know how to do this and does it require a special tool?
trying to finish putting this pinto back together
