Title: Before I bolt this in. T-5 question
Post by: amxtra on August 10, 2013, 09:56:28 AM
Have found lots of information on the T5 swap, and lots on the bellhousing but not specifically an answer to this question.
I have the oil pan, motor mounts and bell housing from a 4 speed mustang II, Should these pieces all work in my 77 Pinto ?
Im guessing with the II housing I shouldn't have any clutch cable issues like with the fox body housing and the bellcrank ?
Anyone know for sure?
Thanks

If it's a D5 bellhousing out of a MII then it works with the T-5.

I wrote this up awhile back & it has all the part numbers.

nice write up. Mine is indeed the D5, so that should work. The motor mounts and oil pan should be the same to I would imagine

Yeah, the oil pan & mounts should be identical to Pintos.

The turbocoupe came with a new disk and pressure plate prev owner had bought it just before the accident. Installed it and the fork wont reach the pressure plate. Im guessing I need the pressure plate off a T5 cable clutch car? Anything specific ?
 Thanks

Or maybe the throwout bearing for the MII?? I haven't installed mine yet but I have a new flywheel/PP & disc for a Turbo Coupe so I sure hope it works.

There are several thicknesses of throw-out bearings available according to Racer Walsh for different applications and mix matching bell housings and flywheels.

I did find a long throwout bearing, but no specs or description about it, is there a link, was I in the right spot, or as usual am I completely lost?
It seems like that could fix the problem, right now its just all free play no engagement.
