Air Conditioning

Somewhere along the line, someone removed the original factory air conditioner that came in my 73 Pinto Hatchback. What is the best way to put air back in this car? Find original system or are there good alternatives that would work with the controls that still exist in the car?

A lot would depend on just how far the 'removing' went. Specifically, did they remove the a/c box under dash? How about condenser under hood?
