« on: October 10, 2011, 06:18:33 PM »
Hello

Just bought my first pinto- its a 77 and I am need of a windshield. I didnt think they would be so hard to find but I have looked at several swap meets as well as all the auto glass places in my area. Anyone parting one out or have any tips on where to find one? Thanks

Hey mchbts:

Are you looking for an original Ford Carlite windshield or will
an aftermarket be OK?

Thanks,

I didn't know they made aftermarket windshields still. Last fall when I replaced mine the glass companies here in Idaho, and myself, partnered up on search for a NOS windshield with no luck except for ONE supplier which managed to find one buried in the back of their storage facility with the rest of the obsolete/non-interest stuff. It was the last one they could find.

After the install though, I managed to track down a junk yard that takes extra NOS items from dealerships and they have four used windshield and five NOS ones, priced at $55 for used and $75 for NOS. Shipping would be interesting, but they might work with you, if you are interested.
