Rubber Coil spring isolator
« on: April 17, 2019, 01:46:47 AM »
I bought from Speedway Motors
https://www.speedwaymotors.com -
coil spring isolators for a 77 Mustang 2. I took measurements from my 30+ yr old isolator where very close match.
Inside diameter
Old 3.21 to 3.28
New 3.18
Outside diameter
Old 4.80 to 4.87
New 4.69
Now the old one has been smashed and has stretched in 30+yrs so the measurements are a little off. But the new one rubber is very pliable and should fit very snugly. I paid 25.53 with shipping and that is for 2. One for each side. Im dont know if this will work before 77 just have to check measurements. Hopefully this will help people out. Part number in picture.

Good post !

I changed the front springs in my 72. Don't remember the year of Mll they were for.
They were for an Mll V8 with AC.
Cut them down (measurement in shop).
Same size as OEM, except longer stronger.

They look like a perfect "gift" you could send to me for the boots  ;D

I bought a set of urethane spring pads a few years back for the Cosworth Pinto to adjust ride height, but never used them.  I think they were about 1 inch thick.  I saw them the other day while clearing out my shop.  I did a quick search at Summit, but didn't find them with a lazy search (at work).
If anyone is interested in them, contact me. I think I can find them again.

They fit nice and snug. didn't have to fight to put them on.
