All I want is seats!!
« on: June 04, 2015, 10:50:42 PM »
A quote i got for a complete Pinto Wagon Interior was $7500!!!

Before I decide if I'm going to sell my wagon, customize it or restore it (unlikely) I just want to drive it but the seats are too iffy for that. So, my question is:  Does anyone know some of the best (and modern) seats that fit a Pinto without butchering thing to get it d
one?[
[/b]

I got great suggestions here for tranny parts I needed....Than ks for both!

$7,500 is quite excessive. You can pick up some things on your own and do them like the carpet. Look for door panels on ebay or someone who does them. There are alternative to get that down to way less :)

My Gosh!  What were they quoting?  I've seen entire NOS interiors sold online for less than that! :o

I'm sure there are some who have their adaptations, but seats can be hit and miss as to availability.  One thing to be aware of is the width.  I would not call Turbo Coupe seats exceptionally wide, but they BARELY fit in the Pinto. The seat belt retractor also gets in the way with rearward movement. I was able to adapt the T/C seats to the Pinto tracks so I didn't have to hack them in. That said with some ingenuity most seats can be adapted to most cars. But, you have to be willing to create  the pieces to do so.

Take a moment to look at the Pinto configuration, measure it and then hit the junkyards.  Otherwise, just use carpet padding and seat covers and make the Pinto seats functional for as little as possible.  But, frankly I got these Mitsubishi seats in excellent condition for around $35 for the pair. The picture is sort of washed out so they look better in person (darker black). And, you would probably pay that for a cheap set of covers. Note, the seats are an example, I'm not saying they fit a Pinto.
