The seller stated it was a Squire, but the panels are brown, not wood panels. Was I hosed? Anybody know where to get wood panels for both sides (long short, but figured I would ask). Also would like the following:
Pair of front brown seats (just a couple rips, but the back of the seats look bad an scratched up).
Driver's side seat belt
Rear carpet for a wagon , brown.
While I am on the forum, a couple more questions for the Pinto pros:
The trim around the instrument panels are flaky off. Can this actually be replaced, anybody else have this issue?

The panels on Squires were imitation woodgrain printed on vinyl - not real wood. Original material to replace this is hard to come by, but there are suitable replacements. I know J.C. Whitney had a vinyl at one time which apparently came pretty close - not sure if it's still available or not. There is also a website called woodgrain4wago ns.com or something like that. Check them out. As to whether you got hosed or not, that depends on what the seller told you and what you paid for the car.
Most people who have encountered the flaky trim around the instruments have been satisfied with the results of either a silver leafing pen or a silver Sharpie, either of which should be available at any hobby shop.

ebay is a big help for me finding parts. If you look, you'll see some of the stuff there. It takes time and well worth it for the outcome you'll have!

Already found a bunch of parts on ebay, Amazon and the part's links form this forum. Also got the vinyl panels from JC Whitney, finger's crossed I do not screw it up installing them. Having the yellow repainted now and gathering up all the parts. I have a gragae full of parts waiting to be installed, can't wait to get my baby back so I can start working on her. I think for the rear wagon carpet, I will need to have one made.

I'm anxious to see how things go with your woodgrain replacement. My '72 Squire is getting to the point where I'm considering it. Be sure and post some photos while you're doing it, plus some of the end result!
