Who in the US still sells aftermarket 2.0 cams?
« on: February 24, 2011, 08:50:12 PM »
I had my 2.0 German engine hopped up with oversize valves years ago, but the cam is too hot for street use. I am looking for a milder cam to replace it with!

Crane and most other US makers have dropped making cams for the 2.0. There are a lot more parts in England, but such things are expensive to import!

Anyone out there still grinding 2.0 cams? At this point, I would be happy to pay for a custom grind, or even resort to an OEM cam!

Thanks!

There are several companies still advertising cams for the 2.0L.  You need to contact them to verify the availability.  This is not a comprehensive list.
http://racerwalsh.zoovy.com/category/4cylinder.camsfollowers/   It may be easier to get their paper catalog than use the web site.
http://www.crower.com/products/camshafts/ford.html?cat=1585
http://www.iskycams.com/  down load very large catalog and go to page 130
http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/group.asp?GroupID=ENG20TOP  stock new expensive cam
http://www.batinc.net/fford.htm  stock new cams, need to down catalog and price list
have fun

Thanks so much for your reply. I just noticed it. I had not heard of most of these guys. It is good to have BAT's contact info, because they have a lot of engine parts.

Comp Cams has 3 blanks in stock. I reserved one for custom grind. As soon as a mechanic friend figures out the specs for a cam grind, I will be in business! Hope to get 150 HP from my conventionally aspirated rebuilt engine.
