I'm going to have to totally rework the interior of this Pinto Wagon. I need new roll-out underlayment that sicks to the panels(Adhesive 1 side). The neoprene-covered both sides is preferred, 1/2" or thicker. And should I use a different type of material for the headliner underlayment?

The real question is: Where's the best, cheapest place to order this underlayment? I prefer as long a roll as possible & 5 ft wide if it can be had.

I'll add polystyrene foam panels to many of the side/vert areas after the neoprene layer has been placed,(for sound-deadening & thermal insulation quality)

I humbly thank you for your reply. I was hoping to keep the weight factor as low as possible also. I've worked with that Tar based underlayment in homes & it can be a bit heavier than I prefer in an auto.

If I'd chosen to put a small-block V8 into the Pinto, weight might be such an issue, but it's only a lil 2.9 L V6 I'm building up. A V8 might get 400+ horse power out of, but I'll be doing good to get half that in a V6.

While I understand not wanting to add weight to the car you do get the benefit of the sound deadening. And most acoustical absorbing materials are going to add weight. But, how much weight would they add?  50-100 pounds?  If the weight was that much of a concern then you should never have any passengers. The average American probably weights 150-200 pounds. Thus 1-3 passengers you could be adding anywhere from 150 pounds upwards to 600 pounds.   And the sound deadener is a whole lot quieter that a bunch of chatty friends!
