front valance
« on: April 11, 2014, 10:51:19 PM »
I'm looking for something that's a little lower to the ground, but at this point, I'm getting desperate. Does anyone know what fits the 79 wagon? I see people use the mustang 2 front spoiler, but the ones I'm looking at, only mount at the two fender points. Wouldn't that flap around in the wind?

Or would it be easier to have someone make one from scratch? I wouldn't know who to go to, but then I can have it look just as I want it to. Maybe any auto collision repair place?

Do a search. Map351 makes a reproduction out of fiberglass.

Those things are nice, he does a great job.
I wish there were different options for the latter models though. The 71-78 have that super cool "bitchen spoiler"
What have people done differently for the latter models?

So your looking for a front spoiler?  There is a factory one for 79-80 but they are rare find now. I wish I would have kept the one I had now as I have not seen another since for sale.

I have original 77-78 & 79-80 spoilers that I'm giving Mike in a couple months so he can do fiberglass versions. Just wait a bit & there should be glass versions of both available.

i had an80 sedan and took the front valance and flipped it upside down into a spoiler.what a difference.the front valance lifts front end from factory.it pulls it down the way i did it.don't remember how i did it.i may have one in basement.also have acouple of spoilers(one for hot pants kit).i accidentally left rear spats(mud flaps in a junker i had taken to recycler. One spoiler is flexible rubber one like on my cruzr.
Pinto-is short for pint-o-fun.

I gave Mike the spoilers last week. He is going to start on the 77-78 version first then do the 79-80 next since he said it will need to be done in 3 pieces then bonded together.
