air cleaner

I have a '73 Pinto Squire wagon with the 2.0 engine. The stock air cleaner housing was recently destroyed (yes, I backed over it). Since this engine is used in sandrails, dune buggies, and even VW bugs, I was told you could get a smaller chrome performance type air cleaner for it. I have been unable to find one anywhere. Anyone know if such a thing exists before I start looking for another stock air cleaner? Thanks, Jerry.

Racer Walsh had them back in the good ole day. Not seen one for sale in 10 years or so. Try E-Bay.

Here's a link to the one that I bought from K&N.
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=56-1010
or go to knfilters.com then click on Universal, Custom & Racing Air Filters, then click on Custom Assemblies and Lids, then click on Custom Assemblies with Carburetor Applications.  I bought part #56-1010, it is 1 3/4" high.  Part #56-1020 is 3 1/4" high and from my measurements on my car would hit the hood.

Jerry, if you're still looking I have a Weber low profile air cleaner new in packaging for sale. It fits the 2.0  carb.

weber part #99217.472

$20 + my cost to ship it.

The one I have on my car has a taller filter but either one will work.

Here is a web site with them for sale at retail $27.95 - http://www.racetep.com/webfilter.html

Baflinn, do you still have this air cleaner, by chance? I might be interested.
