by the way the reason for searching everywhere for this part is because this was my brothers car before he passed in the 70s and my dad has made this car his street racer he's 75 and can't let go of the car
thanks

I'm sorry, I don't have an extra one. Did you try looking in the for sale forums?

I have been looking every where thanks
Let me look in the parts bucket I have for this car. If I do I'll let you know. I have a 73 also. I mean are you auto or manual?
-
If it is a manual 4 speed it is a screw in shifter with finger cutting tags on it, the gearbox is a ford type E , used in the early cortinas and capris, these were made in England and Germany, I think the late 60,s to early 70,s cortinas were an exact fit, (has the rubber damper in the middle)

its the manual trans it's the one that backs up too 2000cc motor he has several of the other manual transmission but they would need an adapter plate to work, I have tried to get him to sell this darn car for years but because it was my brothers car he won't get rid of it I think it is the screw in type because he desrcribed somethin to that effect and that it has two halfs that just fell apart
-
Yes , take a photo, of what's left of the shifter and the trans, and send it to us OLD people to id for you :o
-
it's the screw in kind https://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=AngrpbbjzoOs9UqGaLfbVL2bvZx4?fr=yfp-t-705-s&toggle=1&fp=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&p=cortinas%20shifters

Yep that's it, type E, you might have to go on e-bay eu, to get one, they used them for years until they up dated to the three Bolt flange type, kind of funny the did not stop making the 2.0 pinto engine over there until 2001 , if your not in a hurry I will check to see if I have one,
-
that would be great I am in no hurry
-
I have an extra automatic, but no extra bell housing. They made the 2.0 until 2001 :o
If you wanna go automatic, I can send you mine for a 73 and you just need to find the bell housing.
-
Thanks but the old man wants to keep it the way it is
-
Right now there is one on E-bay under "ford pinto shifter" for $60
-
Yep that is it, with the finger cutting tangs , 60 is not to bad , checked this morning and I do have one, but it is still on the trans , figure its worth 50 bucks, and the trans goes with it, and the boot , no knob, Blaine
