Come join us for the 5th annual Pinto vs Maverick Car Show Challenge, Saturday August 24th, 2019.
We start out Friday evening with a casual get together at a local classic car cruise-in at the downtown square of Painesville, Ohio from 5pm-9pm, 7 Richmond St. Painesville, Ohio.
Saturday is show day! We will meet at the Chops Grille and Taphouse restaurant parking lot 10am sharp, 1752 S. Broadway Geneva, Ohio just off the SR 534 Geneva exit I-90. We'll caravan with police escort thru the strip of Geneva-on-the-Lake. If you have never been to the strip of Geneva-on-the-Lake, it is worth seeing!! It's an original resort town on Lake Erie that never left the 50's and 60's with open arcades, games of chance, amusement rides, bars, wineries and restaurants all with a 50's/60's vintage theme. The people come from everywhere to cheer us on watch the spectacle of all the Pintos, Bobcats, Mavericks, and Comets.
We will caravan with police escort to the Geneva Township Park 5045 Lake Rd. East (SR503) Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio where we will show the cars with the beautiful backdrop of Lake Erie (great photo op)
It's here where we will have the Pinto Picnic cookout providing the burgers and dogs, you bring the side dishes and desserts. If the year of your car is even, bring side dish (electricity available), if the year of your car is odd, bring dessert.
There will be a DJ in the park playing our favorite 70's music. Don't miss all the fun including door prizes, dash plaques, window clings, trophies, and t-shirts!! The Mavericks will vote there favorite Pinto and the Pintos will vote their favorite Maverick for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for each group.

I presume this was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. I am wondering if anyone knows if there are plans for this show to resume this year or not? It looks like a great venue and location! :-) Especially when it is within driving distance from my humble abode!

New to the forum here, but planning on going to Geneva to see the show! Also hoping to find an '80 to get me back into the scene.

Welcome aboard!!! We're so happy to have you join us. I've not ever made it to the Pinto vs Maverick Show in Ohio, but from everything I've heard it's great event! Be sure to report back with details of your adventure and who knows, maybe you'll connect with someone there who can lead you to that '80 you're looking for!

The event is a blast. If my house had sold I would have had a wagon and been there with it. Instead I am staying local since too much going on at home to drive 3 hours to then come home.
