PINTO WINS AWARD AT LOCAL CAR SHOW
« on: June 21, 2011, 12:54:34 PM »
On Sunday June 19th I took the Pinto to the annual Buffalo, NY SPRING-O-RAMA Fathers Day car show.  (see picture)  The car immediately drew a crowd as I pulled in to my spot on the show field.   There were people looking at the car for most of the day.  At the awards cerimony I was presented a very nice plaque with a mounted chrome SBC timing cover having a small clock where the crankshaft oil seal goes for having the BEST PRO STREET CAR.  I was one of the last cars to leave the show field and there seemed a lot of people waiting around.   Before getting into the car to leave I asked what everyone was waiting for.  They said they were waiting for me to fire up that blown motor to hear what it sounded like.  I'll bet some were waiting for me to light up the tires, which did not happen.

Thanks sedandelivery and pintoman1,

Even when I did not get an award at a local Ford Dealership show, I enjoy talking about the car and mixing with other participants.  The car usually gets a double take, not once but  twice.  Once for being a PINTO and the second time for that big lump sticking out of the hood.  But yes, it is nice to see our hard work appreciated.

We are getting ready to leave tomorrow for the NHRA SUMMIT NATIONALS in Norwalk, Ohio where I crew for Don Graham and a few other racers.  But when we get back I will put a picture of the plaque here for others to see.
