Looking to start an Arizona meet.
« on: March 10, 2009, 02:04:59 PM »
anyone willing to come to an Arizona meet here in the phoenix area? im looking to set something up, where we would even have track time maybe ( i have a connection at PIR) we would be sharing the track with the BMW club as well as the Porsche club. but we would have access to a full road course. Would start at a local park and work out way out. im still hammering out details but would like a general response from the members here if they are willing or able to make it. would be later this year july/aug or sept area. let me know

All your input is appreciated. Gives me an idea of when I should do this and how many i will need to cater too. Sept/Oct looks to be the best time as that is when the heat is waning. still warm but not too hot lol. Thanks guys. anyone else please post your interest in this if there is one for you.

There are a few places out here lol. Im still looking as of now. PIR though that would be great i dont want to see everyone have to pay to go there. I am looking at a couple large parks here that Have a nice Mountain cruise we could do. I am hoping for early to mid August. Probably the 8-9th of Aug, Plenty of time for people to see if they can go. I really look forward to meeting those who do plan on coming. While my own car wont be able to attend the show( unless by some Miracle I can get her to pass emissions) and if possible im sure pintony might be interested in coming as well as cookieboy if someone can pass that along to them. Please let me know if this works for any of you. If i can get a few people wanting to go I can solidify a place for us, and perhaps we can have a cookout at the lake or something.

lol. Ok should i add a poll here and see what hits i get? I odnt know if i can add a poll, or if i have to start a new thread. I have new Info as well. I talked to my contact at PiR, They do Host car clubs for free at times if we are "looking into track time" And since I know someone that has worked there for Many many years i might be able to swing something that doesnt require track time, hes getting me intouch with their main person for that sort of thing. As well, I would like to add that when we do this, (it not an If for me anymore i really want to see this happen) Please it will be a potluck so bring food what ever as i dont know how many would be coming. There is no way i could cover that much food. Please any one who is interested put your 2 cents in.

Yeah man. October. Gives me some time to prepare. Gives it some time to cool off. Not ready to take that 32 year old engine on the freeway that far in summer! :)

Sounds good guys, will be on the 17th of October, Still looking into Location but ive got some nice ones picked out, one being in Old town Glendale here and another being off in the Northern part of Phoenix. The raceway here is out, Though i am working with their Coordinator on Giving us a tour there early 2010, or even late in the year as it would be easier on all of you non Arizonians... It gets mighty hot out here during the summer months. already hit 104 here lol..

Phoenix is like the half-way point between here and Sandy-eggo. I just go to Flagstaff and turn left. Last time I made that trip it was like 7 hours.

Address will come soon. hope to start the meet at about 12pm- 1pm. to when ever you all want to go home =) also plan to post this meet in the local paper and Craigslist perhaps to possibly get more pinto's/bobcat's to show up. who knows maybe even get more members to join our group

I wish I could, but we won't be back in Tucson until November.  Oh well, maybe next time ;D
The Pinto I had I gave to my brother. The car was originally my mom's, (78 red Pinto sedan with a 2.3 and a 4spd.) I am originally from Tucson, AZ but moved to Oxnard CA :D
I'm looking for a Pinto wagon with an automatic.

No miracles on my end either. Car's been parked due to lack of funds. Maybe another time. :(
