Car show this Sat in Michigan .....
« on: July 12, 2006, 05:27:55 PM »
Just found an ad in the paper today... there is the 9th annual (didn't even know about the first 8!) classic car show and cruise around beautiful torch lake starting in Bellaire Mi.
Cruise starts at 6 opm Friday.
Car show and auto flea market begins at 8 am on Saturday.

Think I am going to take the Pinto for a drive even though it needs lots of help yet..... after all I am only 20 miles from Bellaire!
Nice quiet, pretty town...this aught to be a nice drive.

Anyone near Mi ...come check it out!

Well, I went to check out the car show in Bellaire...
They were still lining up the cars, and when we cruised through town, the guys were trying to wave us into the show car lot...(I didnt even think about entering my Pinto!).
There were about 40 cars so far, some really nice ones, but the one that made my son start to laugh was a 82 Pontiac T1000.....wow. ..never would have thought to have one of those in a show... his first car he beat to death on the back feild at about age 12....
Anyway, the only PINTO was a 72 baby blue trunk model, that was a HOST CAR..... and for sale.  Totally needs to be restored, but it was drivable and body was in pretty good shape.  It ahs some very small rusty areas around the wheel wells, and the paint job wasnt too good, the interier was the worse part to the car, headliner hanging in the back, the window in back was nasty under it... above teh back seats, which were torn too... the front seats had covers on them, I assume because they are torn too.
Anyway, the car said $800.
Anyone know what this car would actualy be worth ?
My son was interested in it, but he didn't think that $800 was reasonable since it needed more work than mine and I paid a little more than that.
Since the interior needs more work and that seems to be the parts that are hard for me to find, I just dont know what to tell him.
Maybe I will drive back over and get some pictures ~ Anyway the car is in Mancelona MI...
