California's Green Valley Lake Annual Car Show!
« on: July 28, 2012, 09:26:06 AM »

Test your Pinto's hill climbing skills!   Make the 90 minute trek to the beautiful 50's town of Green Valley Lake for a great car show on September 9!   Last year we had 2 Pinto's...Becky's little red dynamo and my Squire.   Let's make it at least 4 this year!  My Squire is fresh off the Hollywood set with renewed confidence after filming a 48 Hour Mystery episode that debuts in the Fall.

Green Valley Lake is known as the "Hidden Gem of the San Bernardino Mountains".   It has a population of just over 250, a beautiful lake, bears, a resident bald eagle family, boating (quiet...no motors allowed), fishing, hiking, camping, and lots of wonderful cabins.  Come enjoy refreshments and snacks at my log cabin on the lake before or after the show.   Here's more information and a registration form:  http://www.green-valley-lake.com/

Hi Bob!  ;D

I'll try to make it again... it's a BEAUTIFUL place and I had fun visiting with you and sharing Ruby with other car enthusiasts. Maybe I can convince my Dad to tag along, as he used to visit GVL as a kid in the '50s. Sorry... he doesn't have a Pinto (his loss, lol).  :)
One can never have too many Pintos!

Excellent, Back in Blue!   GVL, as we locals call it, is truly magical.   Only a short drive from LA (90 min from downtown), it's a different world.  Small town, stunningly beautiful, relaxed, and way more snow than the East cost, yet perfect temp and breezy in summer.  And cabins start at below $100K.  See you there!

Just a sad heads up from Bob, original poster of this thread.  After looking forward to this great annual event, I'm sad to say I have been sent out of town on business.    Waaayyyyy out of town, as in Spain.     Still, hope some of you make it.  The event looks better than ever this year.  I will be thinking about it and wishing I were there!   More info at www.green-valley-lake.com.
