2018 Pinto Stampede
« on: February 08, 2018, 09:56:44 PM »
** This just in!!!!**

The Stampede has been modified to include the "Tail of the Dragon!" and last time we were in the neighborhood we traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway north of Asheville, well we are starting at the beginning and taking "The Blue Ridge Parkway" up to Asheville so we will hit the part we missed the first time.

http://pintostampede.com/

This year we will be traveling from Nashville to Charlotte NC.  So join the Stampede, if you never did one, you are missing out.
July 30, Monday- Nashville, The George Jones museum hosts as we shut down 2nd ave and park on the street while we party and take in all Nashville has to offer. Both Opry's, Johnny Cash Museum, George Jones Museum, etc.
July 31, Tuesday- Drive back roads and scenic byways to Chatanooga. All the while below 55 mph so during the entire Stampede our ponies should run cool. Going to check out some sight to be announced later (we have many to choose from) then on to Athens to spend the night.
August 1,Wednesday- We drive the Tail of the Dragon, and stop for lunch at the Harrah's in Cherokee before heading up on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Asheville to spend the night.
August 2, Thursday a short two hour trip along more back country roads to Charlotte NC. Where we will arrive early and take in sites over the next day as well, some of which include: Roush, Penske, NASCAR Hall of Fame, a Prison Distillery and a few thing more to come.

If you plan to Stampede, make sure you email me with all your information, car info, cell phone number and email.

Sounds great! Only downside is schools start as early as August 1 now, so I couldn't attend the entire event. Any chance of moving it ahead a week?
I lived in Pigeon Forge for about 7 years, so if there's any question a "local" can answer, I'd be happy to help!
Since you're crossing into N.C., I'd suggest hwy 129, the "Tail of the Dragon" 11 miles, 318 corners!

Finally in my neighborhood(again).Sadly no more Pintos, had to let all four go.I live right off Asheville Hwy(nice and curvy) in Greene County.Still have a few parts left like fenders  and hood for 79-80 model, crank back moonroof and weber 38/38 on stock 2.3 intake(plus some glass). If anyone wants them for free contact me at rljones68.rj@gmail.com.I have not been here for at least a year so I am sure to have missed some things.

I am in Denver. I had my car back then, but I did not know about the event when it was here. I would love to see you on this side of the map again.
