I was wondering if anyone was planning on going to this event in Vandalia Illinois?
It would be nice to have some Pintos in the showfield.
If a trip to the great Northwest is a bit too far for you to travel, then how about heading to the Vandalia (IL) Lake Campground & Marina on July 16 to check out the inaugural Midwest All-Ford Nationals car show and swap meet. We'll be giving a presentation there to kick off a special auction of Carroll Shelby and Ford Racing items to help the local Lions Club raise money toward a new digital mammogram machine for the Vandalia Fayette County Hospital. See the event web site for details. And speaking of fundraisers, Jeff Yergovich and the Mustang experts at R&A Motorsports have launched a campaign to make a video pilot for "American Pony Builders", a TV show about Mustangs and the people who love them. Click HERE to find out how you can help turn an idea into a reality.

They don't even have a class for the Pinto, they need Pinto's to have a class for trophies.  It would be a shame if on the Pinto's 40th we could not get three Pinto's for this show. The closest class is for full size 1970-1977 or Falcon, maverick, Comet 1970-1977.  Anyone interested?

that's about an hour drive for Pintony in Staunton, Il and 1.5 hours from St. Louis MO

Wayne and Andrew (the Grandfather/Grandson team) from the Stampede live close to there as well.

I'll send an email to the 3 and let them know

I talked to Tony on the phone and just got an email from Wayne, they both sound interested in going, maybe Andrew too if he doesn't have to work. It's a start and maybe 3 Pinto's total so far if they can swing it. If anybody else in the area has interest you can get in touch with me cookieboystoys at yahoo dot com and I can get you in touch with the others that may be going.

Just heard from Wayne and he's registered, Tony was interested but always waits to the last minute and will depend on weather conditions. No word on if Andrew can make it, forgot to ask...

I'm sending some stampede signs, handouts and other minor goodies to Wayne for the show and display.

if you are close by/in the area be sure to stop in and check it out. If you have a Pinto to bring! all the better, keep Wayne and maybe Pintony company  ;D

email me: cookieboystoys at yahoo dot com if you want to get in touch with Wayne and join him at the show.

I have learned over the years... shiny is not always required, have brought some of the beaters/daily drivers to the shows myself and still have a great time, so if you don't feel it's "show quality" don't let that stop you from joining the fun, the crouds will still enjoy your Pinto no matter the condition and it's always fun to hang with other Pinto Nutz! when you get the chance  :)

I talked to Tony last night, he had 2 cars there (72 red wagon and 71 mustard yellow half-hatch) and Wayne was there with his car. Since this was a "1st Annual" Tony did mention the organization could have been a little better, turn out was about 80 cars, did have some decent live music and the location was pretty nice. Should be a good show in the future as it get's better known and the organizers learn from experience and feedback.

Awesome job guys!  Thanks for all the help and for stepping up with the WWP.  Great things are happening and some great people are involved.  Anyone else want to step it up, the door is always open.  Feel free to get invloilved here or with the Stampede. My best friends drive Pinto's!
