Does anyone know the lift & duration of the stock cam in the '79-'82 draw thru turbo engines?

i dont recall but its a slider cam and is a very reserved profile.... with the absence of zinc in new oils its probably a good idea to look for a roller cam.....the later turbo cams were .400 lift..... many go to a ranger roller cam as they dont wear out.... they are 390 lift....the ford motorsport roller cam( a 237 ) is 420 lift...if you want to spend a little to get a good cam both schneider and engle both have 2.3 turbo grinds on a roller cam... im using a engle hot pinto roller ... they have a small and a large version... im running the large.....it does have a lot of lope at idle...

Engle 55 or 111 works for off the shelf.
The A237 sounds nasty in my 2.3T
It isnt optimum but it came in the engine
when I got it.

Everything I see online shows the Ranger roller having .355 lift compared to the Turbo Coupe slider with .411 lift which is a sizable downgrade though performance is similar.
I have the nearly new '79 turbo slider that I'd like to use until I'm ready to jump to the big VAM, larger injectors, bigger turbo & at least the .420 roller cam in the future.
I would swear that the '79 specs said it was around a .400 lift cam. I do know it had more lift than NA cams in '79

The later turbo cams 85.5-89 had .400 lift the earlier ones so Id say that includes 79-85 not just 83-85 had .390 lift Id just run it as long as the followers arent wore out or anything like that and when you get to that later stage look into Boport cams some of the best cams youll ever find for 2.3turbo engines!
