Ford Show at Knott's
« on: January 04, 2004, 07:01:34 PM »
Does anyone know the date for the Knott's show in Buena Park, CA this year? I know it is usually around mid-April.

I was planning on going but I dont think a set of Turbo Coupe wheels makes it a show car. If I change my mind I will let you know. Last year there were a few Pintos there. I was surprised. I was with one of my buddys in his Capri.

Do they alloy BBQs? I have a wagon so I could pile some coolers and stuff, That way I could at least justify driving down there instead of slabbing it on the bike.

They dont allow BBQs but if you have a pinto, just register it and show up. No one cares what it really looks like.......... ....

I sent my $$ in today so it looks like I will be there in my Woody Wagon. I'll pack a cooler and chairs. I'm not too familar with the area as far as places to meet. I do want to get there pretty early so I dont have to wait in line too long to get in. I can imagine that the parade of cars goes on for a couple blocks.

It is the longest line you will be in. Bring extra coolent becouse about every other car will over heat. I have never been there when my car has not over heated. When you enter you will be shown where to go. You will probably drive all the way through the parking lot almost to the end and up a row about 1/4 of the way up. I can get hot there so bring a hat and sun screen.

Any one going to the show please email me. We can plan a staged entrance with the guy getting there first letting the next guy who arives get in line ahead of him. Lets talk about this via emails off site and exchange cell phone numbers.

About how many Pinto's usually show up?  I came down to the Show in 1999 on my way to Palm Springs.  I was rushed in looking thru as one of my friends that was with us was not into cars.  But, I don't remember seeing any Pinto's?  Seemed like it was a good show.  There were tons of Mustangs ;D  I finally saw a real Stroppe Bronco up close.  I wish I could have brought one of my cars there!  You guys have fun!

I was there today, where do you want the pictures.  In a day or so, I could post them, I just need to know where.  I got a lot of individual pictures, but I do not think I got a group picture (DOH!) Everyone I met there was nice and willing to share the info they had.  I look forward to bringing my Project next year to icrease the number in attendance.

Oldsmobile! The valve cover had to be dimpled to clear the power brake booster, but the stock cast iron manifolds cleared just fine!
