Title: 351w Swap in 79' sedan
Post by: 92jag on July 02, 2008, 01:44:16 AM
Hi all, my name is brian and I need some help finishing up my swap. My problems are what size inline fuel pump to use and how to relocate my alternator. I don't want to have an alt. sticking out the hood. See the pic. I am using a 94' 351w efi roller motor converted to carb with a c5 tranny. The motor has a 750 holley and torker II intake, and complete msd ignition with a 6al box.

Tell me what you think.

Welcome.

Looks like you will need to find a good donor or make your own brackets. You might need to get a different alt., maybe one designed for a v-belt (made to used as the tentioner) and use the serp. belt pulley on it. Keep in mind that if you swap to a v-belt the water pump will spin the wrong way.

When I relocated my alt. on my 302 Pinto, I located it low on the drivers side with home made brackets because that side had the head that was further back, but my rad. hose was on the other side.

I used my stock Pinto alt w/ a v-belt, also relocated to the driver side but at the top of the motor. I made my brackets.

I ended up using an alt. and bracket and the lower v-belt pully off of a 302 I had sitting around. Now I just need to get an electric water pump. What is a good in-line fuel pump to use with a holley 750? I will add more pics of the car in a few days.
