Will a 76 Mustang 2 swap directly over to a 72 sedan?

I swapped a Mustang II 8" rearend in to a 71 Pinto. I do not recall any significant effort to install it. This is a relatively common swap.

I habe a 8" Mustang II in my 75. direct swap. I don't know if there are any things different in the early years.

I jus got a free M2 cobra with front disk and an 8 inch rear.
