The drum on the driver side will not come off. It on crock it. PB will not loose it. I have messed up my two good framing hammers. but it will not move at all. It's causing a bad wobble,
Have you tried to back the shoes off?
I get the drum off. So how i'm i suppose to get to the shoe.
On the back of the rear brake assembly around the bottom there is a small rubber plug. You can pry it off with a small flat blade screwdriver. Once this is removed you can spin a toothed wheel with the aid of a mini flat blade screw driver or a miniature pry bar. pull down on the wheel to loosen (collapse) the shoes, and push up on the wheel to expand the shoes.
I just got done attempting to remove my passenger side brake drum which I never was able to remove. I think the inner lip with goes around the hub is rusted or something and it's holding on way to tight. I'm going to have Les Schwab look at it when I have my alignment done, perhaps have my drums replace at that time while I'm at it.
If the shoes are holding it, the drum should move in and out some pulling the shoes with it. If this is the case, loosening the star wheel should free it as mention by TIGGER..
If the drum does move at all, it is likely that drum has rusted to the axle hub at the center as mention by dave1987. I have had good luck using a propane torch on stamped metal portion of the drum (avoid heating the axle hub) to expand it. Sometimes it will make a ping sound when it pops free. I do not know if this is an approved procedure but it has worked for me.
E brake ain't even hooked up.
Yes, back off the brake shoes as noted above. You need a very small screw driver to push the self adjuster away from the starwheel while you use a brake spoon to turn the starwheel.
Squirt oil where the hub meets the drum and around each wheel stud.
Use an air impact tool with the flat hammer head insert.
Hammer the drum all around the hub area.
Repeat the oil application. Re-impact.
Rotate the drums while you try to pull them off.
