Title: Wiring Harness - Turbo Pinto (firewall issue)
Post by: Wittsend on June 24, 2008, 11:13:46 PM
It is getting to be time to consider the wiring harness in the '73 wagon.  No, I am not going with the Merkur harness.  There are too many of the "extras" from the '88 Turbo Coupe I want to incorporate into the Pinto.

Anyway, at this point I'm most curious about where others have run the harness through the firewall, especially considering the size of the computer connector.  And, where you locate the computer.

Thanks, Tom

I mounted mine to the plastic heater box and ran the harness through a hole  in the fire wall that I believe was already there. I also used the T/C boot and it seals ok but not perfect.

i routed the wires the same as cheap racer, but i mounted my eec iv and msd in the glove box.  i got rid of the heaterbox and the glove box itself wasnt in the car when i got it.  i just made a bracket to hold both. http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn294/ford371/pinto001.jpg
you can see the almost oval hole that still has the groumet in it next to where the blower motor was.  thats were i ran them.
