Hi,
I have a 72 runabout with the 2000cc. I'd like to dress the engine up a little, does anyone make an aluminum valve cover for the 2000cc?
Burton Power in the UK makes an aluminium valve cover.
About $260 though and then you have to get it to the states.

Hey,
Thanx, that was a great site. I dont like the look of the cover enough to shell out 400 dollars, but I browsed around and found some interesting reading on getting horsepower out of the 2000. I'm amassing information so I can make informed decisions when I build.
I spoke with Esslinger today, it seems they have limited parts for the 2000. They will make me a header, but its a custom order piece.
Do you guys know of any good sources for 2000 cc performance parts?
In addition to Esslinger, here are couple more 2.0 suppliers.
Racer Walsh - recommend getting there paper catalog as their web site leaves some to be desired.

B.A.T. - Although not Pinto, they have parts for the 2.0 since it is (was) used in SCCA formula Ford.

Both IECO and Spearco made aluminum valve covers for the 2.0. If you have patience, some old ones may come up on FordPinto.com, ebay, or graigslist. You could always send your steel cover to the platers to have it chromed..
Hey Ironman, You will be able to find tons-O-stuff ion the UK. The ran the 2.0 up until 1989 and even had a EFI version. Search on EBAY in the UK under "PINTO" and you will find all kinds of 2.0 parts.
I'd like to thank you all for the leads on where to find performance parts!!
I contacted Racer Walsh today and they have a chasis fit header on the shelf for a $150.00.!!! It wasnt intended for street use, but my goal is 200 HP.
I also spoke with folks from B.A.T. and Burton in England. If I could get enough tech assistance I'd like to go with Weber or Cosworth throttle body EFI.
Its some VERY spendy equipment :hypno: and the fittings require adapters due to thread differences but I think the performance, tunability, light wieght design and just plain cool factor of having 4 velocity stacks might be worth it.
UK e-bay was a hit, and produced some nice NOS parts that had suprisingly low rates for shipping.
Again I'd like to thank everyone for the EXCELLENT source information!!
Best Regards
Ironman
