Title: 40th anniversary of the Pinto
Post by: Pinto1600 on June 19, 2008, 11:39:46 AM
Good morning all,

I've just emailed the events cooridinator at Carlisle about planning the 40th anniversary of the Pinto. I've expressed my desire to work with them and our club leaders to make this birthday extra special! I'm hoping that all our club members will contact him and express thier willingness to make this happen! We've got 2+ years to organize and pull together for the best D#@* party ever!!!!!!!!!!!  :happy_bday: PINTO

That would be awesome!!  Heck, by that time I would be out in that area, and may even have the car close to presentable!!

Seriously though, that would be really cool, I think that with all of the attention our cars have been getting lately, by that point it could be a real draw for the show itself.

I called him earlier today and left him a voicemail. Yes, I did drop Bill Miller's name.

Please let me know how things go with your email, and I will post about my contact as well.

Please post what is going on (or not) soon, this event will take years to put together and we need to stay on it.

I love that flying Pinto. Too bad she crashed.

We're going to do something with Pinto's in 2011, so if anyone can
find, build another flying Pinto, or design a Pinto hot rod, it has a
spot here in 2011! Let's see the creativity from our Pinto fans. :)

OK folks I need some help.I have a inside source at Ford.He says that he wants to help celebrate the 40th anniversary with us.I need some input on what Ford can do for us in 2011.I don't think Ford will put out for a car hauler,it would be nice but who knows. So please give me your idea's so that i can get back with him.

Well teh Hauler would be nice but I doubt we can get that, Maybe they can supply some Collectables or something, Memrobelia (sp), Shirts that say 40th Anniversary of the pinto on them. Trinkets or Keychains something along those lines, Maybe even show their support in other ways.

Hi every one. This last Friday Phil,Pintony and myself were able to have a talk with the people at Carlisle.Hear is what they said,we need to get the Pinto community to start thinking about 2011.They will start there advertising some time next year for the 40th.They might do it sooner[i am not sure].They are going to give us a building to put some of our cars in.The size of this building depends on how many Pinto's will be there. It is up to us to select the Pinto's that will be in the building. We will decide that sometime next year.Phil and I have also talked to Ford and they are willing to help us with the 40th.If any one knows of any person that work on the Pinto's at Ford, like designers, engineers and so forth please get ah old of Phil or myself. So with that said I now need a list of who is going and a list of those that might be going.I know that this is early, but we need to get things rolling. If I have missed anything I hope Phil will let us know.So get your Pinto's ready and I will see you all in 2011.

Good morning folks,
As Harley stated,we've laid the ground work for the 2011 Carlisle show. We talked with Rick Mako of Carlisle and John Clor of Ford SVT to figure out what we as the Pinto family need to do. This party is yours, mine and any one else who owns a Pinto,YOU FOLKS will make or break this adventure. Start planning now for your budget, lodging, transportation. We have a good group of people here and on related sites that are willing to lend a hand. But it's up to you to do your part and plan your vacation.  As I've stated before in a earlier post we need people the help with the planning and execution of all aspects of this celebration. Two or three people will be overwhelmed, lots of hands make a light work load. I look forward to working with all of you to make this anniversary party a big success. We have the power and numbers to make this work,I'm very excited about the upcoming years!

                                  Best regards,and God bless
                                      Phil Reynders(Pinto1600)

I'm just looking forward to the 2011 Carlisle All Ford Nationals so we can have the biggest & best ford pinto meet ever! My car will be there, but if there is anything I can do to help I'm ready & willing.

I say we all should show our pride of the cars to both show non-believers that Pinto fans do exist, as well as showcase what people loved about the cars... Maybe even inform others on the explosiveness of the cars, or should I say, as to what caused it.

I'm 'planning' to have a Pinto at this meet... I'm putting an engine in now (last weekend and not this weekend) in my Green Runabout...  That's my goal and why you guy have not seen much fixes or changes to the site in a while...

Good day all,
It's been awhile since I've needed to post on our anniversary party. We're still a year and a few months out from the gathering so things are moving along at a slower pace right now. From other posts it looks like we'll be hard to miss at Carlisle 2011. In the last few days I've been contacting catering services in the Carlisle area. We're trying to plan for a pig roast for Friday evening for all to attend on the Carlisle grounds. More too come, stay tuned!

Good Day all,
A important update for all of you. We are trying to get a third class set up with Carlisle Productions for the 2011 year show only,a Pinto race car class(maybe it will continue on after). It would include drag cars,SCCA race cars and any other Pinto used in "off road" events. So if you have one of these cars we are trying to let you know that you will be greatly welcomed to the 40th anniversary party,we need you to let us know that you want to do this!

                                 Look out 2011!

If any Pinto members are in SE Ohio area, I am going to need some help in the next few weeks getting my '78 fully stripped, patch panels welded and the car put back together.

As it stands, the current plans are for Dad to tow my ride out I hope to be able to cruise around in it and then tow it home.

The question is, can I get the 302 swap done in time, with no budget and 1/2 the tools?    :surprised:

I gotcha... When were you looking to get help with the car? Dayton is only about an hour or so from Columbus, so I would probably be able to help you out some.

I have been working on it a little every weekend.  I was hoping it wouldn't have rained today, I could have primed the engine bay...

I gotcha. I work Saturdays but would prolly be able to come by on a few Sundays to help you out. Who knows, I might actually have my Pinto on the road, driveable by then. That would be a decent test for Carlisle.
