Is there anywhere i shouldnt mount a remote oil filter? example...does it have to be below the block, sideways, upside down. I'm looking for the best position and height to mount it. thanks.
On our race cars that I build, I have mounted the filter everwhere except out side the car, with NO difference in pressure or flow. I have run the car and moved the filter from ground level to hood level with no difference in the pressure. Put it where it fits and you can get to it to change it. I use the inter fender panel, about valve cover high to mount mine. Make sure the hood will close first.

What remote kit did you get? From where? I need one myself for my 1600cc engine.
Forget the kits! They use very small hoses and fittings. Use braded hose or Earls / Russall hose made for oil use. Its in the Jegs catalog in both black and blue colors. No smaller than #8 and #10 is better.

So what pieces are needed? You have to have a piece to attach to the current location, the hose, and the piece you attach remotely. Got a source for each?
JEGS and SUMMIT both have then in their catalogs and on the net.
