Title: pinto brakes
Post by: ocfirefossil on June 13, 2008, 11:33:30 PM
Were any pintos made with 5 bolt rotors or drums?  If so what year and model?  Or are there other models like Mustang II, etc. that interchange?  I have 5 on 4 1/2 from Maverick rearend.  Or do I need front spindles from another ford and what is involved in the exchange?

All Pintos were 4 X 4 1/4 lug pattern. Check the FAQ section of the forum. There might be a post for a 5 lug conversion in there.

Here's the link for the rotors.

First, welcome to the forum.
Second, what year is your Pinto?

My '78 has direct bolt-on Granada rotors.  They fit right on the spindle without any issues.

I went 11" and had to do a brake bracket and upgrade, but the 9" works fine with the stock caliper, per the FAQ.

depending on your car speedway motors has NEW 5 lug rotors for the car that are a straight swap.
