I just received a set of factory rear window louvers for a wagon, How do these mount? Were there hinges spot-welded to aluminum on top at one time? Or did this simply screw to the hatch without the hinges?
i just have to ask, where did you find?i have not found them anywhere under 400.oo dave
I think they just screw in but I am not sure. My 78 CW looks like it had a set at one time because I have holes in my hatch. I will try and take some pictures of it tomorrow so you can see the locations. Maybe that will answer your question? BTW, nice score on the louvers ;D
A PM from another member here.
They were originally atleast on the wagon they came off of Screwed into place. i think there is supposed to be a hinge support at the top, but again i am not 100% sure about that. So i would suggest the same as it was. they looked great on it.
dave im on the lookout for a couple more of these for other members, if i find any in my Junkyard hoppins i will post them for all to take in but im sure they will go fast.
Here is a picture of my hatch. The dark spots on the hatch are the screw holes that have rusted. I hope this helps some.
Thanks!
BTW, looks like my louvers had a prop rod at one time. Does anybody know where on the hatch where the loose end fit?
