hi everyone! i just bought a 77 pinto cruising wagon! she's in really rough shape, but, salvagable. i'm trying to get her to run better, and, my big obsticle right now is the vacuum layout. someone in the past disconnected parts, put T's and Y's in all over the place, left ports open, all in all, a MESS! does anyone here have a vacuum diagram for a 77 with the 2.3L, auto trans, and, at some point in the past, had factory a/c?
also, i need help tacking down a carb kit to rebuild the carb. the car was built in 3/77, and the local parts store only had carb kits listed for cars that were holly equipped. the carb has a motorcraft tag, but no holly numbers that i could see.
also, the evap canister has a large diameter hose coming out of it that reaches all the way up to the carb/manifold area, but i can't figure out where it connects to! it looks about the right size to tie into the pcv system, but, that's already hooked to other things. any help that you guys can provide will be greatly appreciated!
Do a search, I posted a thread on vaccuum line routings this using my all original 79 wagon. I used the 79 as a guide when I redid my 78 crusing wagon and it worked just fine.
i thought that i had read somewhere else on the forum that they had changed the desing in the 78 and later vehicles, while the 73 to 77 cars were the same... although, i could be mistaken.
Hey do you still need a copy ? If so I need the info on your engine. It has a sticker on the valve cover has id's the engine and yes I know it's a 2.3 what I need is the engine specs. I would be like 7 N rev 4 or something like that....If you do need the info I have a copy of the emissions gudie for most of the cars of that era ie 1970 to 1980 Ford , Dodge etc.. And it even has trouble shooting and repair guides.
