Pinto peeps... Yup I am new here. I deal with the German Pinto blocks and US Lima (2.3) blocks more...
but I am curious of the casting numbers on the US 2.0 pinto blocks.
The german ones are 205 (common) and 200 (not so common, but stronger).
I am curious of the differences between these. If anyone knows.. I have spent a bit of time researching and got no where. more info about the v8 blocks.
thanks,
TF
where are the 200 numbers???

Greetings,
First , there are no US cast 2.0 EAO Pinto OHC blocks. The German blocks had a standard engine casting, then later a HD block with the "205" Designation.
The 205 was used in the Sierra Cosworth platform in Europe, in normally aspirated and Turbo design, but with much stronger internal pieces. The Pinto concept borrowed the 2.0l version of the OHC from the German Capri.
Hope this helps,
Pintosopher
I agree with pintosopher!
His explanation is how I thought it was too.

P.S. Unless you are breaking the standad block 450 HP don't worry too much about the 205 block.
