Title: Tach wiring question??
Post by: uncleamin on May 18, 2008, 12:57:28 AM
Hey,
I have it mounted and working.  I was just wondering for those of you who have installed after market tachs, where did you run the light wire? I'm just not sure where to hook the wire that controls the light. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.

if you look at the wiring that goes to the radio, find the light blue/red stripe wire. should be a 2 pin connector.

I found the wire you were talking about, hooked it up, and it works perfectly. Thank you.
What is that wire anyway?

Hey uncleamin, what tach brand are you using?

I just installed a SunPro Super Tach II on my 78 with a 2.3 and the light seems pretty dim compared to my SunPro gauges from the 80s. Would you happen to know if a brighter lamp can be swapped out?

Hey, I am using a sunpro as well. It's a bigger one with the white face and it actually is extremely bright. I'm not sure about changing the bulbs though...sorry.
