Hey all,
I posted a while back looking for a tank for my '77, then sought advice on repairing it at a local shop - bad news - The inside coating on this tank is gone and rust will continuously plug up my fuel filter. Can't find any manufacturers of replacement tanks - fuel cell is not an option at this point & time unfortunately - I'm on a fairly tight deadline and need a bolt-in fix.
My questions are these:
What years will fit in my '77 sedan?
Does anyone out there know of someone selling a southern tank?(and I mean you US guys by southern - those who aren't in the 'salty' states)
Is there a manufacturer I am not aware of that makes these things?
This issue is holding up the certification of the car, so I'm hoping to be able to resolve it quickly.
Thanks guys!!!

hey ponygal, I think they are all the same, at least they looked the same from all the cars I've junked. I had one from a '75 but I may have scrapped it. I will look ASAP. The scap yards won't take tanks on scrap cars anymore so I wad them up with the skid loader, the pinto tank may have been one of them. You may want to post on the demo derby site, they pull the tanks and use a cell of some type, someone there may have one.

Smart idea - thanks!!
From what I understand, all the sedan-H/B Pintos and Bobcats 74 and later all take the same tank. You could use a 71-73 with different straps, but they are smaller tanks. The wagon ones are VERY different.
I don't think they ever had a coating on the inside, other than rust.
There are comanies that restore tanks, and you can get a tank sealer that you put inside the tank to seal it.
