Looks like this is the real deal used as a Race car??
Thats neat. I have seen Pintos at Watkins Glen in the Vintages races. They sound so cool on the track.
Looks like back when she was new. When was this taken, based on the cars in the background, it was mid 70's.
B/S (B-Sedan) was the class for Pintos from 1971 to about 1980 in SCCA. After that it changed to GT-2, then GT-3, and stayed there untill today.
Howdy all,
This image is one that I rec'd as a batch from Paul Ramsey (aka cossiepinto) Paul was the guy who purchased the Blue #9 Galpin Ford Pinto vintage racer from the guys in Hollywood who had that car. He sold the Galpin car to Ed Smith who enters it in vintage races to this day.
Paul is also building a very cool Ford Cosworth powered street weapon.
The B/S Sprint sedan in the image, may no longer exist, I am still looking for clues to its origins and hope someone out there remembers the Sponsor on the side of the car ( WW Automotive) It appeared that they had some pinto customers in the So Cal region and maybe had a Good rep with the local SCCA scene too.
Too bad more road racers aren't getting their rides out to the shows, this is cooler than you might imagine.
Cheers,
