Title: Steering Assembly
Post by: Jaros on May 07, 2008, 09:03:21 PM
I have a 79 Pinto restoration project.  The steering coupling disc ("rag-joint") is totally deteriorated.  A new part, which would include the shaft from the steering column to the rack, is unavilable locally.  Salvage yard, which has some old Pintos won't sell me the part ("the disc would also  be bad and it would be dangerous").  How does one renew this part?  What is the disc made of?  Nylon?  Polymer?    Parts store rag-joint kits don't come close to fitting.   Any help in solving this problem would be much appreciated.  Thjanks.
