Title: Finally got my dash cap installed
Post by: Smeed on April 14, 2008, 03:37:25 PM
Ive had this thing for months but was waiting for a warm day to paint it. It looks so much better than the old beat up dash. The paint is too dark but its not the end of the world. In the grand scheme of things, neither is dropping money on a new cap if it starts to annoy me.

Here is the best "before" picture Ive got.

I think it came out pretty good :) It was much easier to install than I thought, and it only took about 10 minutes and a bunch of diving weights.

Thanks! Now to buy some of those metallic pens and spruce up the heater bezel a little.

Those things work great. I redid the heater vents cluster trim and heater control with the silver sharpie & it looks great. Make sure you  store them cap pointing down so the ink will stay near the tip.

Thanks! I picked up those sharpies earlier today and touched up that same part. Just doing those few simple things make the interior look a lot better.

I got a very nice one off e-bay. There listed for 71-78 and 79-80. Think I payed $63.00 plus $11.00 postage. There on there every day.

I got mine from mustangs unlimited. http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/ Bill pointed this place out to me because its local and it seems to be the cheapest place to get caps.
