Title: Pinchero has a new home
Post by: dunk57 on April 11, 2008, 03:16:19 PM
If any of you remember the yellow pinchero that was on e-bay back in sept/oct 07 located out in Nanaimo B.C.,it moved to Alberta  flew out and drove it home.Ran great through the mountains, looks awesome, drew a crowd of admirers every were we stopped. Now to lay on a little TLC and spend some time driving it around.

Has anyone here ever made the conversion to a Pinchero? I have an urge every now and then to give it a try.

I've seen a coupe  Pinto "pickups" in albuquerque, but not as nice as the yellow one on youtube.  I cut the roof off of a decrepit 80 wagon that wasnt street legal any more and used it as a yard truck for a while, if you leave the front section on from the b pillar forward the body retains most of its strength.  I didn't enclose the back of mine though and the smoke drifting into the cab made it somewhat annoying to drive very far.  I wouldn't try it with a pristine car.  We used a Sawzall to cut through the pillars and me and my brother were able to lift the roof section off pretty easily, it doesn't weigh much.

Powderblue, thanks for the info on photos, this show and shine was on sept 28 in high river Alberta, beautiful day over 1000 cars turned out what a show took 3 hrs to walk through and see all the cars was probably the best show and shine this year as the weather has not been the best and when the weather does not cooperate people do not bring out their cars.Lots of interest in the pinchero, people really like the look of it.

Pinchero has been put to sleep for the winter, has been -30 degrees here in alberta for ten days and probably got 20 inches of snow so no more playing with the pinchero until spring (meow).Put the pangra wagon away too.Panel wagon is still earning her keep.

Just recieved a set of NOS bumpers (front&rear) for the pinchero.Got them from Special Interest Cars in Oakville Ontario Canada. They are drop dead gorgeous, came wrapped in parts protection paper with 72 parts #'s on them. They will look great installed on the Pinchero .
