I got a call back from Marti Auto works. They make replacement vin stickers for Fords, they are licensed to do so. My problem, they only make American made ones, they do not make ones for Canadien made Fords. They will make a special plate (at my cost of course) but they need a picture of a St. Thomas pinto vin sticker. If anyone could forwad a picture of their vin sticker (has to be a St. Thomas Pinto, this meens the second digit of the Vin number has to be an "X" , as in 7X10Y219614) if you have one and could forward a picture, it would be greatly appreciated. This also means that since I will be absorbing the cost to create the stamping, anyone from here on can get one remanufactured for $25-$30 without the excess cost i will have to go (they estimated $500.00 for the stamp) I could get a forgery made with an American plant designation made, but I think authenticity is pretty inportant on a Vin sticker. I was on the phone extensively with them today, in order for an exact reproduction I need a picture, any help would be greatly appreciated. Please e-mail me at wreckingcrew2@nyc.rr.com

Hey rear ended,
Do you know what year they started making the Pinto in Canada?
Maybe Ponygal can help you out??

Norm,
My yellow car is a CA car, let me see what I can do for a photo (my camera does not like up-close stuff).
If they are going to charge you the $500. to make the stamp are you going to own it? Are you going to get paid everytime they use it? Thats how it normmaly works for 'tooling' in the fabrication world.
Bill
Bill,
Thanks for the offer, but I need a picture of a Canadien vin sticker. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, feel free to blur your vin number if you want, I have my own. As for the royalty fee, I asked, they said they would get back to me, but I do not have my hopes up on that one. They said they have done a total of four Pinto vin stickers so far, so there is no high demand. But if they become available after this for someone else with a Pinto that needs one, then that's a good thing right? Oh and Bill, I was going to wait until Carlisle, check out below.
Sorry, I thought CA = Canada.
My yellow car was made in Canada.
WOW, now I want that car back more than ever. I'm so glad it went to a good home. I remember saying that the only way I would ever install a hood scoop was if it was a shaker.
Nice job.
Bill
Hey rear ended,

Thanks guys,
That means alot coming from real Pinto guys. It probably has been done before, but I never saw a Pinto with a shaker. It took some squeezing and trickery to get it in, I still have a little finishing on it but she is in. By the way, Glen sent me the whole folder on the original restoration, this is what she looked like in 2004.
Bill, I am guessin your car is Canadien after all Eh!
If she is, can you forward me that pick so I can make her feel official again?
Here are some more pics.
The hood cut, whew! Glad that went well.
The side angle, painted to match the car and added autolite stickers.
Trim ring, this was tricky because the mustang has additional bevels on the front portion. Go ahold of a fiberglas trim ring, cut, molded, re-fabricated and installed.
I am just about out of cash for this years improvements. I still have alot I want to do, but I want it tasteful.
Thanks Bill,
Hey everyone, Bill sent me a picture of his Vin sticker, so you don't have too.
:happy_bday: ;D :drunk:
Hey Rear Ended,
That scoop is so awsome Makes me want to put a V8 in one of my Pintos!!!
Glad you got the photo you needed.
BTW my red 72 wagon was built in Canada...

Pintony,
If I see you in Carlisle, I will give you the play by play. I had a few sleepless nights, but it came together nicely. Thanks for the compliments.
