Hi y'all.About three years ago fellow members of the United Ford Owners car club in central Ohio decided to redo the Pinto of one of our members. His name is Rod.Some of you saw his car at Carlisle last year.It is not in real good shape. The rear quarter panels are rusted, the drivers door is rusted,he has no rear brakes, windshield is cracked and he needs new seals for everything.Plus the clutch went out about a month ago.So far we have removed all the chrome and removed all of the old paint. This next Saturday i will try and replace one of the quarter panels. I will keep every one posted on the progress.
Thanks Tony.So far we have both quarter panels ,drivers door, trunk lid and we have a hood coming from Postalpony.I need to see what else we will need and let you know.
Pintoman , I have a winsheild if you can figure out how to get it. It is alredy out of the car from a 74 sedan, seal was shot. I had the drivers door as well but could not figure a way to get to him. my ex would not trasport it for me She lives in Hillard. How far is for you to travel to Canfield oh, they have a swap meet may 2,3,4.

Thanks Phil. But the windshield you have may not fit an 80.The 80 does not use the rubber seal.My buddy Mike said he will buy a new one.Maybe some one on the sight could use it.Thanks again.See you at Carlisle.
Yesterday we cut out both quarter panels.Sanded the body and made a couple of small patch panels.Next week we hope to weld in one quarter panel. It will take awhile to get this car finished,we only get to work on it on Saturdays. But with lots of help it will work.Hope to have new picture's next week.
Good to hear you guys are finally getting to fix his Pinto up. Can't wait to see it all done.
Hi y'all.Been working hard on Rods ride. The drivers quarter panel is on,the passengers quarter will be tached on next Saturday. The hood and trunk have been removed and the donated ones should be put on real soon. The drivers door should also be reinstalled this next Saturday.Hope to have it in primer in the next three weekends.
Sounds like it's really coming along Harley. Were the floorboards also rotted out on his car?
Yes.
I thought they were, just couldn't remember. Glad it's getting redone for Rod. Seemed to be a real nice guy the few times I talked to him.
We made great progress today. We now have both quarter panels on,the drivers door on,new hood on.Next week finish sanding, install rear spoiler, and clean up the mess. Then hopefully remove the seats and carpet and fix the floorboards.
Here's an update. Most of the sanding is done, removed the seats and carpet, installed new brake lines on the rear axle. For carpet that is 28 years old it looks like new.We cut out the rust on the drivers side floors and installed new sheet metal.Next week we plane on the passenger floor boards, finish sanding a few areas and finish the rear brakes. We hope to have Rods car done by the forth weekend of July and then give it back to him at our cruise in.More to come.
Here is an update. We installed a complete rear axle and new shocks.Just got the body painted yesterday,it looks real great.I will post pictures in the next day or two.
I am going to wait about two weeks before i post pictures.I do not want Rod to see them until we give him his Pinto back.We want to surprise him.
Sounds good Harley... where do I sign up for the waiting list to get my car done? ;D
Well guys and gals.Rods 80 Pinto is finally finished. It only took 4.5 months to get it done.Rod has always been a man of few words, and he still is.He could not say anything other than [oh my god].I think he said it about 15 times. So here are some pictures.I hope you all enjoy.
Here are some more.
The wing[spoiler]came from the MAS company. You can find there adds in most Mustang magazines. Thanks for your kindly comments. It took lots of Saturdays to get it done, but it was worth his expression.
Man that is sooo clean looking....
A job very well done... I was waiting to see a update..

Hello Harley,
How long ago did you buy the rear wing?
The reason I ask, Is I bought the rear wing from them years ago and it did not look like the on on Rods Beautiful Pumpkin!!!
From Pintony
Ok Harley show them the pumpkin photo.

Hey Tony,I bought the wing about 6 years ago.I did not need it for the wagon i was working on and sold it to Rod for what i had in it.
Just to let every one know.We had to replace both quarter panels, drivers door, hood, trunk lid and floor boards.I lost track on how many man hours that went into this car but it was a bunch. We still have a couple of mechanical issues to work on,but thats only after we can pry the car out of his hands again.I don't think that will happen any time soon.
Hello all in Pintoland
Just a side note about some re-doing photos of Rod's Omaha Orange Pinto.
