Title: pinto specs
Post by: holsterguy on July 04, 2004, 11:11:39 AM
Hello, I'm rejoining the Pinto community after a long absence, and Scott tells me that this is just the place to find some information that's no longer readily available on the net:  Pinto specs, specifically the curb weights of the different model years with the various engines.

Ran across this electric vehicle site that sets out some component weights for the Pinto that you all may find useful; I know I did:

Glad to see the 2.3t efi transplants have grown beyond the early efforts; my own homemade 2.0t carbbed went into my 72 sedan in the late 70s.  No intercoolers then!

I rember we drove up to the Ford Show one year ( you in your SVO ) and at about Carlsbad I over heated ( only to find out that it will do that when you dont fill up the radiator) heheh. Anyway, Im glad to hear from you. Please drop me an email so we can catch up.

Hello, Brad, nice to hear from you again.  Indeed I dropped you an email to your address of record, but no reply; perhaps it's out of date!

Meanwhile, 44 reads of my post and no replies other than Brad's "howdy"!   :'(

I thought the info was interesting, but I didn't really have a use for knowing the weight break down. And I'm not planning to convert any of my Pintos to electric power...at least not just yet.

Then I read another poster asking how much a 302 conversion would make his car weigh. Well, I can use the chart info to know how much he's removing, at least :)

BTW: Welcome aboard.
