Look at what I found in my dad's attic! I was up there to get the old car audio stuff down since I was re-doing the way my stereo is mounted to the dash and found this sitting on a box on my way back down!
I also found a SEARS 643.505952 (model number) AM/FM tape deck for the Pinto, along with all of the mounting hardware in the original box! Talk about a find!
I'm having a problem installing the new battery tray though. The bottom screw towards the front of the car turns but it won't back out. I even wedged a screwdriver between the bracket and the side of the engine bay and put outside pressure on it while turning the bolt, still nothing!
Do the bolts thread into the sheet metal or do they thread into nuts welded onto the outside of the wheel well?
The bottom bolts thread into nuts however they are not welded to the inner fenders. You will have to wedge a wrench on one side or get a friend to help to get the lower bolts off.
Thanks TIGGER, that's what I was thinking. I will try and install it on Wednesday and I'll post pictures of the under-tray damage too. :\
