I have an old worn out vin sticker and have possibly found a way to get one reproduced. I need a few numbers answered in order to make all codes authentic.
This is for the drivers side door sticker.
If your vin numer starts with 7X I need the DSO code on the bottom right of the sticker (this is the plant code, St. Thomas Ontario Canada)
If the fifth digit of your vin number is a "Y" I need your transmission and axle code.
And lastly I need the month of manufacter, this will be tricky for I have to narrow down as close as possible. The last six digits of my vin number are 216914, this is the 216,914 Pinto of the line that year. The top right side of the sticker holds the date mine is missing the month ( ?/77) If your number is close to this (above/below) my number please let me know your date of manufacture, so I can figure out the month mine was produced.
Thank you all for your help.

Thanks Pintony,
I actually was going through another site for this exact company. So I will buy from them direct.
Thanks,
Seems our cars have a lot in common :P

DSO = B1
If the fifth digit of your vin number is a "Y" I need your transmission and axle code.
Tranny = V
Axle = 4

Well, my car is 148,894 and the sticker states it was built in 01/77, so maybe March/April of '77 for yours? (I'm really not sure how fast they pumped these babies out)
Hope that helps!
Thanks Ponygal.
Ponygal gets a 1-UP~ :)
The DSO is not the plant code. It is the Domestic Special Order code. If it's only two (2) digits, it's the district code for where it was to be delivered. The site below is for Mercury Trucks, but the same codes apply for FOMOCO trucks from '57 and passenger cars from '62 to at least '87 (the year of my Mustang.) If you know where your car was originally purchased, you can usually just go with the closest distribution point. An example would be for Tucson, AZ the dist point would be Phoenix, or like for San Diego, CA the closest would be Los Angeles.
