hello all just got my 71 pinto trunk car and and am looking to street/strip it have a 351w to put in it with a c4 first thing i was looking at was headers any one know if the headers i found at summit and jegs say for a 74 and up pinto is that just becouse they do not have v8 mounts in the earlier cars or is there some thing different about them and if any one knows if there are any kits for the mounts or am i going to have to pull out the fab stuff lol any help would be great thx all

ill be in portland ill take pics of my dads 73 give u some ideas on how to do it.
They Mount the same as the 74-80... you will need the Motormount to frame pads off a 74-80 Pinto/Bobcat/Mustang II
Mustang II 302 oil pan or a Miladon(so I'm Told)
I've had hooker headers with the 351 that fit good and another pair that was a pain in the arse.
Make sure you give a fellow Pinto Owner a chance at the old pinto parts you are pulling off.

I'm not sure about the header fitment questions on the later cars. The later V8Pinto headers have different tube lenghts, diameters, and collector diameters.
I wish I had a trunk car to race.. good place for ballast! :)
Let me clear this up I bought early pinto header to put a 351 in my 72.
they are slighty different.
