Title: Engine Swap

I just bought a '76 bobcat wagon with a 2.8 and an automatic.  The engine is shot.  I was wondering if my 2.3 from an '80 hatch pinto would bolt up to the auto tranny?  Thanks for the help!

Sorry but No. The bellhousings are totally differant. The starter on the 2.8 is on the drivers side and its on the passengers side on the 2.3.

Ok thanks.  Noticed that myself after I got the motor yanked out of the bobcat today.  Looks like it will be getting the manual as well.
