Is there upper and lower ball joints? All the places only list uppers but no lowers. I need ball joints soon because there's a set wrapped with plastic bags and electrical tape (makeshift boot)
Thanks
Ben
Well is it a 73 or 71 Pinto???
If it is a 71, the lowers have been obsolete for a while. A NOS pair with the lower arms went for $99 on E-Bay last week. If your ball joints on the bottom are OK but the boot is the issue then why not clean 'em, grease 'em, and re-boot seal 'em. You can get the boots in polyurethane as an upgrade if you want. But the REAL danger whether you replace or re-boot are the springs. No short cuts here or we can start a memorial thread about you
TIP: I use only MARINE GRADE HIGH-TEMP LITHIUM trailer bearing grease for all my greaseable bearings and lube points. It holds up MUCH better against water intrusion. Regular "Fasty Lube" grease breaks down fast if it gets regular water exposure and your contact wear points can go south $$$$$. The down side (there's always one) is that it costs more. I just look at it as long term insurance. The RV places have it.
It's a '73, I need to change the signature.
77TurboPinto told me it was a '73 when he cam to look at it, I'm going by what he said and I'm confident that his information is correct.
So if it's a '73 are there ball joints? Or do I need to find the whole arm?
Thanks
Ben
