Need more detail from you.
Are converting a wagon that did not come with them?
Did the car come with them put there is a problem re-installing them?
Bill
I know that on my 74 w sport mirrors the aluminun trim has a recess where the mirror fits on the pass side ,so you will probably need to check that out before install.

The trim on the wagons is narrow and does not need the recess.

it is a 79 wagon,it did not come with them, right now it has just the reg.mirror on drivers side thanx
You can get the riv-nuts and screws from MustangsUnlimited.com for under 10 bucks.
You will need to measure where to drill the holes in the doors; outside of the right door and the inside of the left. The outside of the driver's door is done, and it's a good place to get the dimentions you need for the right. If you use a remote right side, you will need to pop out the rubber plugs in the door and door jamb to snake the cable through. The dash should have the joy-stick mount hole between the console and column (will be on the FLAT bottom of the dash). I will see if I can post a photo of the joy-stick location on the driver's door.
If you are in doubt about the ocation on the right door, remove the guts from the mirror and have someone hold it on the car for you; find where it looks right and mark it.

I installed Torino remote mirrors on my MustangII. I got them at the pull-a-part. When I did, I got the mounts & all. I tapped the holes in the mounts for 1/4-20 bolts, then used short bolts & washers from the inside. This was before I knew what a "riv-nut" was.
Just a redneck engineering alternative.
thanx for the advice, any pictures of doors or dash would be great
here's a couple pics from an 80 hatchback I was parting out
first shot is of the cable run Bill was referring to in the passenger door. I have the front fender off and you get a good look.
second shot is of the adjuster knob between the coin tray and steering.
third is of the mount for the passenger door... notice the hole needed for the cable...
finally the forth is of the inside driver door to indicate location of the hole for the adjusting knob (see red arrow). remember you will need a hole similar to the one on the outside for the passenger door to run the cable. Also one other observation I made and remembered... when I took the mirror out of this car... the green line to the right indicates where the window runner is located (or there abouts on the inside of the door) that you don't see in the picture. Important to note that the cable runs around this... if you forget this part the door glass might not roll up and down after installing the mirror.
The bad part: I was wrong about the trim on the passenger door, sort of... Yes it is narrower, and I have seen wagons with the right side mirror without the recessed trim, but aperently there is a recessed trim for the mirror. I have seen non-wagons with the right side mirror and regular trim and it looks funny.
The good part: I have the trim part if you need it.

i will have to check, and let you know. great pics. thanx
